Police last night charged a 17-year-old Broadmeadows teenager following a city-wide crime spree whose latest victim was a Mernda family who were woken by the intruders around 4am yesterday morning.
Police today arrested a 17-year-old Broadmeadows boy at a shopping centre on Bacchus Marsh Road, Corio in relation to a series of alleged aggravated burglaries.
It is understood a group of offenders armed with edged weapons and metal poles gained entry to a residence in Avoca Avenue, Mernda about 4am this morning
Police are continuing to appeal for public assistance to help locate Shaun Bourke who is known to frequent the Whittlesea, Montmorency, Bayswater and Keilor areas.
UPDATED 3.30 pm: Police have concluded their investigation and Whittlesea – Yea Rd is now re-opened police media confirmed to Kinglake Ranges News at 3.25 pm.
