Jason Whalley was born in 1965 in Nudgee, QLD, and now lives with his partner in Wangaratta.
He was raised in a family where politics and an interest in how our country was run was instilled from an early age, and where the principles of fairness and justice were always promoted.
Whalley has a professional background of 37 years in the banking and finance industry, as both a bank manager and lender, which has given me a real insight into the crippling financial demands facing everyday people, just like me and you, and especially those of us in regional Victoria.
The cost of living just keeps growing, and Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party (DHJP) is focused on helping everyday Australians keep up, whether by tackling housing affordability or keep your energy bills down.
As Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party’s candidate for Indi, my goal is to listen to the community and advocate for their needs. I will focus on reducing family violence, fight for victims of crime and strengthening our justice system, whilst also immersing myself in agricultural, infrastructure and health needs within our electorate.
I am active in my local community, including at the cricket club, and in my retirement have really enjoyed frequenting the region’s great cafes and chatting to business owners and fellow residents about how we can help the region prosper.
It is with great pleasure and honour that I stand as a Federal candidate for DHJP.
