Kinglake’s shock 78 point loss to Powelltown in round 15 was the ‘kick up the bum’ that the Lakers needed according to senior coach Andrew Fairchild, after his side knocked off Yarra Junction by 43 points on Saturday.
Whilst the Lakers got away to a quick lead at the Kingdome, Yarra Junction slowed the scoring rate after half-time in the closest Division 2 game this weekend. Powelltown smashed Yea out of the park at Yea and Yarra Glen easily accounted for Alexandra.

Kinglake got a pair of hammerings last time they came up against Yarra Junction and Seville, but they’ll be hoping it’s a different story on their home patch, a patch they haven’t lost on this year.
