Lakers “attitude problem”

Kinglake’s shock 78 point loss to Powelltown in round 15 was the ‘kick up the bum’ that the Lakers needed according to senior coach Andrew Fairchild, after his side knocked off Yarra Junction by 43 points on Saturday.

Saturday Sports Scoreboard

Whilst the Lakers got away to a quick lead at the Kingdome, Yarra Junction slowed the scoring rate after half-time in the closest Division 2 game this weekend. Powelltown smashed Yea out of the park at Yea and Yarra Glen easily accounted for Alexandra.

Weekend footy preview

Kinglake got a pair of hammerings last time they came up against Yarra Junction and Seville, but they’ll be hoping it’s a different story on their home patch, a patch they haven’t lost on this year.

Sunday Sports Scoreboard

Alexandra stayed in the hunt until the third term when Kinglake increased its lead by four goals five at the last change. Thornton-Eildon were smashed by AFL Outer East Division 2 powerhouse Yarra Junction at home whilst Powelltown was too strong for the River Pigs at the Powelly timber mill.

Saturday Sports Scoreboard

In AFL Outer East’s second division today Powelltown defeated Kinglake by 13 goals whilst Seville was too strong for Alexandra at home and Gembrook-Cockatoo smashed Yea by over 100 points.
