The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) advises a strong cold front is currently moving through Victoria with damaging winds averaging 40 to 60 km/h with gusts to 100 km/h forecast for Central and parts of East Gippsland, South West, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.
At 2.37 pm the Bureau of Meteorology issued a Severe Weather Warning for Heavy Rainfall, Large Hailstones and Damaging Winds for people in Central, Northern Country, North Central and parts of Mallee, South West and North East Forecast Districts.
The Yarra River catchment has received rainfall averaging about 8 mm in the Upper Yarra region and about 39 mm in the Lower Yarra region since 9:00am yesterday.
