The Country Fire Authority this afternoon issued an advice message for Kinglake West, Pheasant Creek with an update from Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DEWLP) due around 8 p.m.
There is a fast moving grassfire at Larritts Lane, Glenburn that is not yet under control.
This grassfire is travelling in a easterly direction towards Devlins Bridge.
The Country Fire Authority (CFA) has declared this Saturday, March 17 a day of Total Fire Ban in the Mallee, Wimmera, South West, Northern Country, North Central and Central (including the Melbourne Metropolitan area and Geelong).
Atmospheric -often referred to as barometric- pressure has dropped rapidly in Kinglake and surrounds, with Kinglake currently at 999.5 hectopascals (hPa), down from 1004.5 hPa at 3pm.
