Shire punters spend $60m on pokies

Two hotels within Whittlesea Shire have topped the state – and maintained their number one and two rankings – for poker machine expenditure with $10.99 million spent on gaming at the Epping Plaza Hotel and $9.82 million at Mill Park’s Plough Hotel with 75 per cent of gamblers living locally.

High Tea for the Shire’s nonagenarians

Around 140 people attended a special High Tea at Alexandra Shire Hall for Murrindindi Shire’s citizens aged 90 or older last Thursday, February 22 to celebrate their invaluable contribution over the years to Murrindindi Shire.

Bundoora Park defeats Lakers by 141 runs

Round 13 of the North Metro Cricket Association (NMCA) was played over Saturday February 10 and 17. The Sault Shield game was contested between Kinglake’s First XI and Bundoora Park’’s Third XI at Kinglake Memorial Oval.
